Yes, that is how a lot of people play it. You both work the same case file and argue about who did it. Nobody gets an assigned role.
Do we need a host, or to act out characters?
No. This is not a party game where everyone plays a suspect. You are both the detectives, so nobody has to know the answer in advance.
How long does it take?
About 1½ to 2½ hours. Progress saves, so a case can fill two evenings.
Which case should we start with?
The one whose story you both want to be in tonight. For a first case, the Medium ones fit a single evening. Or warm up with the free case first.
Can we play on our phones?
You can read the file on a phone, but handing evidence in needs a computer. Play on a laptop, or connect it to the TV.
Is it gory?
The cases deal with serious crimes, so there are autopsy reports and scene photos. The game is about evidence, timelines and lies rather than shock, and it is meant for adults.
Is it a subscription?
